what you are to me

or will be.

 

I and my feelings

are indivisible

and needing

will not be multiplied

by wanting.

 

Yet, when you speak

of your love

with soft words,

or come to mind,

I cannot let go.

 

Perhaps, if you liked me more

and loved me less

the balance would be better?

 

Still,

 I am with you willingly

though I cannot see

nor clearly understand

the chain which holds me.
